Bahiazul Resort Review: A Unique Stay in Fuerteventura

If you’ve clicked on this post, you’re probably deciding whether to book a stay at Bahiazul Resort in Fuerteventura.
It is somewhere we’d looked at a few times, but we usually stay down in Costa Calma & we found it hard to tear ourselves away from the south of the island.
However last year, we finally booked a villa in Bahiazul & stayed for 7 nights – & we are very glad we did!
You can book a villa through the resort or choose one of the many privately owned villas that are available.
We personally chose to book Villas Veaco as it was the best price at the time & it looked gorgeous!

In this review we’ll share our thoughts about this resort, an insight into what our villa was like & of course – lots of photos!
Let us know if you have a trip to Fuerteventura & enjoy! 馃尀
Bahiazul Resort Overview
Location

Bahiazul Resort is located just outside Corralejo, in a neighbourhood called ‘Geafond‘. The area itself is mostly made up of holiday villas & resident’s houses.
It’s a 7 minute drive into Corralejo town, or a 40 mins walk.
We had a car so the location was fine for us, but just be aware before you book that it is a bit further out of the centre.

We would personally suggest hiring a car, just so it’s easier to come & go!
Also good to note is that opposite the resort you’ll find a Lidl & Mercadona, so if you need any groceries then you really don’t have far to walk!
There’s a well-reviewed restaurant across the road called Chris’ Kitchen & about 30 mins walk will take you to a small hub of shops/cafes too.

Facilities & Amenities
Bahiazul Resort is almost like it’s own self-contained little neighbourhood.
The main road into the resort is lined with palm trees, & off to each side in the narrow streets are the villas – all with the same blue gates, doors & rooftop domes.

Each villa has their own pool, rooftop terrace & jacuzzi.
The main building as you come into the resort is where the restaurant is located, as well as a gym & spa. If you’re with family, there’s a children’s playground & paddle tennis courts on site too!

We went self-catering but there’s also an option to do bed & breakfast or half board.
Note: If you book one of the privately owned villas, you will still get access to all the facilities in the resort!
Villas Veaco at Bahiazul Resort

Booking Villas Veaco Bahiazul
As we mentioned above, we booked an independent accommodation in the Bahiazul Resort called Villas Veaco.
We did so via Booking.com as it was giving the best deal at the time & we always find it trustworthy to book through.
馃挆 CHECK AVAILIBILITY FOR VILLAS VEACO BAHIAZUL 馃挆
The villa we chose was the ‘Deluxe Villa’ with a private pool. They also have a family superior option.
So without further ado, here’s what we thought of our stay at Villas Veaco Bahiazul!
Checking In
Getting to & checking into Villas Veaco was a breeze.
They had sent us a message the day before asking us to inform them of our arrival time so they could have the villa ready for us, which was really nice.
I mentioned that we were coming from another hotel so might be early, but we obviously didn’t mind waiting until check-in at 15:00h!
They also asked if we wanted the pool heating service to which we said no – but actually wish we had said YES to in hindsight – especially for December馃槀!
On the day of arrival we received a message about 14:30h with the number of the villa & that we could come on ahead whenever we were ready.
Attached to this message were instructions for the villa & various PDFS about excursions and things to do which was super helpful!

There’s a security man at the entrance of the resort, who was very nice & waved us on through. The villa was easy to find & we parked right outside the door.
Our lovely host Veronica was inside, she showed us around & let us know if there was anything we needed, just to message her. It was a really welcoming experience & she was helpful throughout our stay.
Although we don’t drink red wine, they left a complimentary bottle on the dining table for guests to enjoy. A lovely touch, but we ended up just leaving it for the next person!
The Outside

The villas in Bahiazul are all the same style – whitewashed, with splashes of blue on the roof, doors & gates. Almost like something you’d see in Greece!
They also have cute little garden areas outside the windows, with all kinds of bushes, shrubs or cacti!
If you have a car, you’ll have your own parking space – just remember to close the gate when you leave!
There is no parking allowed OUTSIDE your villa – unless you are leaving – as the streets are quite narrow. They like to keep them clear for other cars & people working there.

Living & Dining Area
As soon as you come through the front door, you enter into the living & dining area.
It was open, bright & spacious – and we loved that you could see out onto the pool area.

At night time we would have our dinner, then chill out & watch TV on the sofa. It felt really clean, comfortable & homely – and in fact sometimes we wished we actually lived there!
And don’t worry – you get free wi-fi for your stay!

The Kitchen
The kitchen in our villa was not only the perfect size for both of us, it was actually nicer than our kitchen at home! 馃槀
It had every appliance you would need for self-catering: a fridge/freezer, microwave, cooker, grill oven & even a dishwasher.
I normally hate cooking but I loved cooking in this kitchen.

We are big coffee fans especially in the morning – so the Nespresso machine was very much appreciated! We just bought pods in Lidl.
All the surfaces & cupboards were clean, so we felt comfortable using it straight away. There are plates, cutlery, glasses etc provided.
All you need to get is your food, drink & possibly some cleaning supplies!

The Bedrooms
Would you believe me if I told you there are actually THREE bedrooms in this villa!
One main bedroom & two which you have to access via the outdoor area.

As it was only the two of us of course we just used the main bedroom with the double bed. It was just off the living area.
It had brilliant wardrobe space, a full length mirror, a vanity table & was attached to the main bathroom.

The other rooms if I remember correctly both have two single beds, plenty of storage space & smaller ensuite bathrooms with a toilet and shower.

The Bathrooms
There are 4 bathrooms in Villas Veaco, so you a really spoilt for choice lol!
The biggest bathroom is in the main bedroom. It has a rainfall shower with skylight, a his & hers sink area, and a toilet/bidet.
There’s a small bathroom just off the living area, with just a toilet & a washbasin. This is handy if you’re in the kitchen.

As I mentioned above, there are two smaller, ensuite bathrooms in the other bedrooms each with a shower and toilet.
The bathrooms were all very clean & there was hand soap, shampoos, towels etc provided.
The Pool Area

Now onto the outdoor space, which was what really attracted us to Bahiazul Resort & Villas Veaco!
All villas have their own private pools, with an area to sunbathe or eat outside.
Note: the pool & outdoor space (along with the villa itself) may vary in size & style, depending on what villa you book or they give you.

We were super disappointed however, as the week we visited Fuerteventura the weather was particularly dreadful, so we didn’t actually get to use the pool at all because it was so windy & cold.
So please make sure to use it as much as possible if you go – just to make up for us not using it! 馃槀

The Rooftop
Not only will you have a private pool area, you also have a private rooftop!
The rooftops are amazing – they have a jacuzzi, outdoor table, a barbeque & even an outdoor kitchen/laundry area. We also had a bali bed.

Again we tried to make the most out of the rooftop even with the weather being dreadful – I think we had one nice day we stuck our swimwear on & got a bit of sun! It can be so hit or miss in December time.

One thing we will say is that because all the villas are attached onto each other, you may be overlooked a bit from certain directions.
It didn’t bother us too much but I did feel conscious taking photos a few times in case there was someone looking lol!
But overall the rooftop area was bloody fantastic!

馃挆 BOOK YOUR STAY AT VILLAS VEACO BAHIAZUL 馃挆
Is there anything about Villas Veaco we didn’t like?
In terms of the actual villa or service we received, there really wasn’t anything we really disliked!
However here’s a few things we want to mention:

The only thing that annoyed us was some very noisy next door neighbours that were there for a few days, who were shouting & singing at the top of their lungs.
Which was slightly irritating when you’re trying to chill out on your rooftop or get to sleep!
I guess we just didn’t expect it to be the kind of place were people would be very noisy or there’d be children screaming (especially in December!) – however that isn’t the fault of the villa itself & you may find you have super quiet neighbours (like us two! 馃槀), so don’t let it put you off! We would still go again.
Another thing I would do when booking next time is to request exactly which villa I wanted if possible.
Villas Veaco seem to own a few villas on the resort & therefore it’s hard to know which one you’ll get when you’re booking as there are so many different photos.
I wasn’t sure which was which to be honest in the photos as it didn’t specify. We ended up in villa 8-3.

There was one with a backdrop of the mountain, & I was hoping we’d get that one as I thought it would be quieter & more private. I would request this one next time!
Finally we would GET THE POOL HEATED! Especially if we’re going in the winter months. It was so windy & cold the week were there that we just totally missed out on enjoying the pool. So we definitely suggest enquiring about this when booking!

Would We Stay At Bahiazul Resort & Villas Veaco Again?
Overall, we absolutely LOVED our stay at Villas Veaco in the Bahiazul Resort and we would definitly love to stay there again!
& hopefully the weather will be much sunnier so we can really get the most out of everything the villa has to offer.
We’d actually love to do a tour of it for Youtube & our instagram.
We thought the service from Villas Veaco was amazing, especially Veronica who looked after us upon arrival & during our stay. So we can highly recommend booking through them!
We are certain that the Bahiazul Resort staff also offer great service if you book through them as well.
We hoped you enjoyed this review & do let us know if it was helpful or if you have any questions pop them below.
